As part of the removable denture preparation workflow, the protective ring is used to shield the ball attachment from acrylic or cement residue during the transfer of the metal housing into the acrylic denture.
Place the ring over the ball attachment so that the spherical head protrudes through the opening. Then assemble the metal housing with the yellow or black (zero-retention) insert already inside.
Apply adhesive or acrylic to the prepared holes in the denture and press it down firmly over the housing. The housing will engage and transfer into place, becoming an integrated part of the denture.
